Woo, finished stein’s gate this weekend. i like it pretty a lot, although the pacing was kind of weird.

the first half seemed to be pretty straightforward slice of life and the only thing that kept me watching was that dexter said to. but at around episode 16 or 17, it went into overdrive and started going nuts. i got super invested in the characters because of the early episodes without even noticing it, and when shit started going down, it was really impactful. i’d say in terms of order of magnitude (pop pop) of feelings this is up there with ttgl, bebop, trigun for me. 

the last episode was a bit unclear on how okabe escaped the attractor fields, as in ‘makise should die anyway just like mayuri in the alpha world line,’ but my personal explanation is that he nudged the beta world line in the precise way that allowed him to avoid her death and continue on. 

so, a few minus points for a shaky beginning…if i were watching it with a week between, i’d probably drop it because it started pretty slow. but, a really well orchestrated, hard hitting second half more than makes up for it. i think i’ll give it a 8 on MAL.

This is a good time to be a fan of Korra. No, I can’t tell you the release date at this moment, but I can assure you the announcement will be very soon. I just wanted to clear up some of the confusion and misinformation out there. It was originally announced that Korra would premiere “sometime in 2012” which was right on track with when we’d be ready to show it. Then right before the 2011 San Diego Comic Con, Mike and I learned that the network was going to push it back to 2013, which is what we reported at the panel. That was true for a time, but plans have changed again, as they are prone to do. So although I can’t reveal the exact release date here today, I can assure you all that Nickelodeon is not delaying the series or anything of the sort.In fact, they are putting their full support behind it. Just finished Steins;Gate with my roommate. Best anime we’ve both seen in quite a while!

what a coincidence, I was _just_ planning to start watching this too :D. I’m all ready to get started but every time I sit down in front of my computer I just end up playing hours of ME2 until my eyes bleed. I’m suuuuper late to the ME party but I’m trying to make it up by playing it every chance I get. Hopefully I’ll get around to this after I beat ME2 :D (orrr…maybe not, since ME3 is coming out soon…:))

Someone from /r/anime painted this on a wall in their house. This is all sorts of amazing, and definitely something I’d pay for to have in my house. (shots in progress).
