I was getting this error in the Play Store when trying to add apps. At some point through the many ROMs I’ve flashed on my Galaxy Nexus, something got a bit wonky with my account and I couldn’t install any new apps. Instead, it would just say “We are unable to verify your account at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.” Trying again in a few minutes didn’t resolve the issue :p

Some mild Googling produced the solution of clearing data from relevant app: the Google Play Store and the Google Services Framework in particular. My first time around, I cleared the data from one of those, and then tried to install the program again, without success. What finally ended up working was the following:

• Settings -> Apps -> All
• kill google play (no idea if this was important)
• clear data from the following apps: Google Play Services, Google Play Store, Google Services Framework
• reboot
• open up google play store and install apps! hooray
